Simpler Rail Fares
New names for rail fares will be introduced across the rail network in 2008. To make life easier to find the best value ticket to match the travellers needs and simplify choice.From May 18th 2008, all advance pruchase fares will be known as Advance and will have common terms and conditions, including rail card discounts.From September 7th 2008, walk up fares(that you don't have to buy in advance) will be grouped into Anytime or Off-peak.Off-Peak fares can be bought anytime, travel off-peak, when it is less busy, so they do have some restrictions on when you can travel.
