Simpler Rail Fares
New names for rail fares will be introduced across the rail network in 2008. To make life easier to find the best value ticket to match the travellers needs and simplify choice.From May 18th 2008, all advance pruchase fares will be known as Advance and will have common terms and conditions, including rail card discounts.From September 7th 2008, walk up fares(that you don't have to buy in advance) will be grouped into Anytime or Off-peak.Off-Peak fares can be bought anytime, travel off-peak, when it is less busy, so they do have some restrictions on when you can travel. Anytime fares, buy anytime, travel anytime will have no time restrictions and be the most flexible.Perfect for people who want to be flexible.The new names will apply in Standard Class and First Class and single and return fares.The new names will be easier to understand, fewer ticket names causing less confusion, common terms and conditions and this means the rules are acceptable by all train companies nationwide, so you know were you stand.Any questions on this subject please contact our staff on 01912515000 who will gladly assist you with all your travel requirements
